At first the gentle chime of Dr. Who’s cloister bell seems like a reminder for something like “it’s time to water the plants,” but in fact it’s warning of imminent, utter catastrophe. Like it there are warnings all over American/European culture that may seem gentle at first glance, but signal that a disastrous miscalculation is steering these cultures toward a Titanic-like catastrophe. Steve Sailor at Taki’s Magazine points out this one.
As I pored over the microaggressions endured by victims/students at expensive liberal-arts colleges, it struck me that this ongoing dumbing down of America is a joint project of both sexes, with men and women each contributing their own special something….
First, though, what are microaggressions?
The Smith College site explains: A microaggression is a brief and commonplace daily verbal, behavioral, or environmental indignity, whether intentional or unintentional, that communicates a hostile, derogatory, or negative slight or insult….
According to Oberlin [college]: If you see or hear racist, heterosexist/homophobic, anti-Semitic, classist, ableist, sexist/cissexist [sic] speech etc., please submit it to us so that we may demonstrate that these acts are not simply isolated incidents, but rather part of structural inequalities.
This reminds me again how Western culture has lost an accurate understanding of what it means to be human and therefore it has a wrong understanding of the motives involved in human behavior and how to deal with them.
Since it’s taught that a human is nothing more than a bio-electric machine that produces the illusion of self-awareness only as long as the body functions, humans are then thought to be morally neutral (if such a view even allows a definition of morality) and this thinking in turn leads to the idea that an individual’s suffering must be caused by some external person or condition. Then the hunts begins to find who or what is creating this suffering so it can be corrected through training, education or criminalization.
God tells us something entirely different. His word tells us that the nature of being human is much more complex than the physical scientist can discover (because they insist on limiting the sphere of their research to only the physical realm): we are spiritual beings living in a physical body and because of one fundamental choice, these are in conflict with one another.
Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:19–23, NASB95)
But if I do the very thing I do not want to do, I agree with the Law, confessing that the Law is good. So now, no longer am I the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me. … I find then the principle that evil is present in me, the one who wants to do good. For I joyfully concur with the law of God in the inner man, but I see a different law in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin which is in my members. Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death? (Romans 7:14–24, NASB95)
Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. (Romans 8:1–4, NASB95)
The solution to society’s inequities and destructive human behavior must address the self-will of each human being. No human can “fix” this for they cannot condemn themselves. Each person must look upon the one who was pierced for them, accept His forgiveness so they come to experience forgiveness and be spiritually renewed so they have a true choice to let go of their slavery to the flesh.
